US Flag – Watch It Wave…
The US Flag is very special to me and to all Americans. Many things bring to mind: Betsy Ross, The American Revolution, Honor, Commitment, Freedom,Liberty, and Childern. The US Flag stands for all of these things and more. When you see the Flag waving over a field of grain, you think of this great nation. Silently (like the silent majority) I give thanks to those who fought for our country over the years.

Add to your minds eye, the Bald Eagle, the Statue of Liberty, and Jesus, then you have a picture that is the complete symbol of strength and freedom of the United States of America.
These symbols may very well out last our great nation and one day will represent the nation of plant Earth.

Meaning in Folding the US Flag…

Folding the Flag
I always knew that there was a proper way to fold the US Flag. I just learned that the 12 folds (after the initial folding of the 3 lengthwise folds) and each has a specific meaning.
Each of the 12 folds is a symbol of or is in honor of the following:
The 1st fold is a symbol of life.
The 2nd fold symbolizes of belief in the eternal life.
The 3rd fold is in honor and remembrance of the veteran who gave a portion of life for the defense of our country and for peace.
The 4th fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in times of war for His divine guidance.
The 5th fold symbolizes the words of Stephen Decatur, “Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.
The 6th fold is for our heart – we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
The 7th fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces – they protect our country and our flag against all her enemies.
The 8th fold is a symbol of the one who entered in to the valley of the shadow of death.
The 9th fold symbolizes womanhood – through their faith, love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great.
The 10th fold is a honor to father – he has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country.
The 11th fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The 12th fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.
When the flag is completely folded, only the stars are showing on the blue background, reminding us of our national motto, “In God we Trust.”
